The puppies are doing well.... gaining an ounce or more each day! I have taken a LOT of pictures and will try to find that cord the day after tomorrow.... since tomorrow is Christmas! SORRY!

Tears and Sorrow

It is so hard to have a litter of puppies sometimes. I have always been lucky and not had too many problems. This litter has been so different. First we lost the puppies during the delivery.... and then last night somehow Traveler laid on one of her puppies. We have been so vigilant watching over these 4 babies.... I just didn't expect this to happen after the puppies were this old.... and so big! They have grown so much in 8 days.

Goodbye Miss Pink. Sweet baby girl. I honestly can't belive you are gone.

So now we have 3.... a show boy for Gabby, a boy for Ginger and her family and the lone little girl will go to Ginger's mom, Rita.

I have pictures to post of the babies for you, but with all the craziness of the holidays, we have somehow managed to misplace the cord that hooks to the digital camera.... as soon as I find it I will upload all the pictures.

The puppies are BIG and FAT and move all around the box now. By the end of the week they should have their eyes open!

I am going to try really hard to focus on the positive.....

Welcome Desdia "D" Litter Families!!!

The way we keep track of our puppies and their families over the years, is that each of our litters has a theme..... and is in alphebetical order. First we had the "A" litter - all with registered names that were Greek gods or goddesses starting with "A" - The mom of your puppy was from that litter - her registered name is Desert Diamond Aphrodite. (We were Desert Diamond before we shortened it to Desdia!)

The next litter all started with "Back".... we have Desdia Back to School Again, Desdia Back in the Day, etc. Our last litter was the Hollywood "C" litter - like Desdia's Chicago, Desdia's Cool Hand Luke and Desdia's Can't Buy Me Love - to name a few.

You can name your puppy anything you want.... this is just for the registered name that will be on the AKC registration papers. I just think its fun when the name you call them goes with their registered name!

So now we are on "D". I have a few ideas but have not settled on anything. Ideas are appreciated! I have seen some clever names with "Dressed" (Like a dog named "Dressed for Success" and his call name was "Armani" ) and with "Double" (like "Double O Seven" call name "Bond")

Let me know if you can think of anything else... I would love to have a Holiday or winter theme... but I couldn't think of anything that started with "D"!!
