Desdia E Litter

Well everyone.... WELCOME!!

I set this blog up for my last litter so that our puppy families can easily watch the growth and progress of their new family member! Our journey is about to begin so I decided to go ahead and get things started!!

Mom is getting BIG! I will try to post some pictures of her big tummy in the next couple of days. Her due date is Friday so we are getting down to the wire!!!

I did want to get some ideas for our litter theme. My litters are in alphabetical order and we are on "E". Sometimes we have a theme or a word.... so far we have had Greek gods and goddesses that started with "A" (ex. Desdia Apollo, Desdia Aphrodite, etc.), Our "Back" litter (ex. Desdia's Back to the Future, Desdia's Back to School Again, etc.) , Our Hollywood "C" litter (movie titles starting with "c" like Desdia Can't Buy Me Love) ) and our Dance litter (ex. Desdia Dances With Wolves, Desdia Dancing Queen). All registered names begin with our kennel name "Desdia" and then the word that starts with the letter of that litter. It just helps us to keep track of our babies easier!!

"E" is a little tougher.... any ideas???

Also.... dog food. I have recently switched my gang to a different dog food. I have tried so many!! We have fed Eagle Pack, Natures Variety, Canadae, Precise... to name a few. The breeder of my puppy, Maverick, uses a food called Diamond Naturals. It is a holistic food with no byproducts or fillers that is priced very well. You can not get it in traditional pet stores but it can be purchased at feed stores. I would like to have everyone go to the website and check the dealer locator to insure you can get this food in your area. I usually recommend that our families buy just a 40 pound bag of the food we have been feeding the puppies and when that runs out.... switch them to adult food... either the brand we use or another one that you like.

Now... I do NOT like the regular Diamond food.... ONLY Diamond Naturals!! The regular Diamond food is junk!

Right now I have my adults on the Chicken and Rice.... but will switch back and forth with the Lamb and Rice. I plan to start the puppies on the small breed puppy.... I like the smaller kibble.

Anyway.... I am contemplating taking mom in for an xray to get a final head count.... but if I don't we will certainly know by this time next week!! We have 8 families on our waiting list so am am really hoping for 8!!!! (4 boys and 4 girls would be PERFECT!!)
