Just a quick update...
The puppies are doing GREAT!! Mom is so good. She is relaxed and calm but attentive and caring to her babies! She is eating like a horse.... the Diamond Naturals small breed puppy food mixed in with cottage cheese, cooked chicken, rice and cooked veggies. She also had a good bath today and you can tell she is feeling better now that the delivery is over!
I weighed the puppies again tonight and they are all gaining. Normally, most pups lose weight the first 24 hours but resume weight gain on the second day. All healthy pups should gain weight on a regular basis. These puppies are all about a pound or more now so have gained an average of 5 oz. in 2 days!! They LOVE to eat!! But don't all goldens?? :)
Right now it is 2:3o in the morning.... my shift to watch over the puppies. We just want to make sure mom doesn't accidentally lay on a baby. She is very aware of her puppies and is such a great mother I doubt she would but you never know.... they can be awfully tired that first week!! Especially with so many to feed!
I will post new pictures in the morning.... the cord to my camera is in my bedroom and my husband is asleep. He took the 10pm - 2am shift so I don't want to wake him!
