Tonight (or I guess this morning... :)..) I went ahead and made the switch from ric rac (the zig zag colored "collars" I put on the puppies at birth) to melted crayon. The puppies are growing so fast I was having to replace the ric rac constantly! (Its just tied on...) You have to check it frequently to insure that it is not getting too tight around their cute little necks! I also had a couple keep falling off so.... we switched to the melted crayon.... a little trick that I picked up from my breeder friends in Europe.
So from now on, don't look at their necks but at the base of their tails... there will be just a splash of color there that will tell you who that puppy is!! When they are all nursing there is quite the rainbow of colored backsides there to see!
